The following book/s come with the utmost highest of recommendations from me, they are books I ADORED, and I think you should give them a go!
Heart Shaped Shards by Ria MacAlister
What's it about?: Heart Shaped Shards centres upon the world of domestic abuse.
Kate once dreamt of pursuing a career as a sports rehabilitation therapist. Soon her hopes and dreams were beaten out of her. Along with any self-esteem and resemblance of a life.
When her volatile husband comes home and sees she ruined dinner, he gives her a beating she'll never forget. Left scarred inside and out, Kate stumbles through her journey of healing and learning - until she meets a man who wants to rewrite her past and protect her future.
Heartshaped Shards is the kind of book that stays with you long after it's finished. And it is most definitely worth a read! You won't be disappointed.
Why do I like it?: I don't like Heart Shaped Shards. I LOVE it! Ria has done an outstanding job in crafting a story that is reality for so many people and the characters are just so loveable (well, maybe not Kate's husband). It's an addicting story and hard to put down.
So go on, help Ria out and purchase a copy on Amazon!

This Star Won't Go Out by Esther Earl
What's it about?: A non-fiction collection of journal entries, stories and letters by Ester Earl throughout her journey with thyroid cancer.
Why do I like it?: Because Ester has inspired me and countless others, and will continue to do so with her words. She had the potential to do great things in her life, but it was cut way too short.
**Warning: Grab a mega box of tissues if you embark on this adventure!!
Support the Earls by purchasing a copy, or donate to the This Star Won't Go Out foundation.
