Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
(YA, Dystopia) Final book in the Shatter Me trilogy.
Ignite Me is filled to the brim with action and suspense. It kept me reading, wanting, needing to know what happens next. It is highly entertaining, absorbing and very intense.
Okay, so while I did enjoy this book more than Unravel Me, I still think Shatter Me was the best one. I definitely liked Juliette better in Shatter Me, when she wasn’t so indecisive and cruel to Adam. He deserves better than that, I feel.
I noticed the absence of strikethrough text and numbers (she has switched to the lettered version), which made me a tiny bit sad because that’s one of the things I LOVED about Shatter Me. I love quirky styles, so I was thoroughly disappointed when I had a flick through.
By the middle, Juliette began to annoy me. She doesn’t have feelings for Adam anymore? She’s been stringing him along this whole time? And now she’s hot for Warner? I’m all for “follow your heart”, but I kinda wanted to punch her …
Overall, Ignite Me was a pleasure to read and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for any future books from Tahereh.
This trilogy should be on your TBR list, if it isn’t already!
