Prodigy by Marie Lu
(YA, Dystopia) Sequel to Legend.
June and Day are on the run from the Republic. And it’s not long until things blow up in their faces again. Are their enemies really the bad guys?
Okay, I’ll admit that I enjoyed the second half of this book far more than the first half. The first half seemed agonisingly slow as I waited for the characters to figure things out that I already had. But overall, Prodigy was an enjoyable read, filled with action and a little bit of romance sprinkled in there for good measure.
I really like June and Day — though June’s constant analysis and measurements of everything in the form of a set of parentheses gets a little grating as the book goes on. I generally skimmed over these more and more near the end. Still, I’d recommend reading the Legend trilogy to all dystopian fanatics.
